Year 7 and 8 Adventurers

We offer personalised learning, and the opportunity to interact with others of their age through a variety of academic, sporting, and cultural activities during the year. Our senior students are presented with many and varied opportunities to pursue and develop their individual interests and strengths both in the classroom and in our local environment. Each year they have their own dedicated leadership/adventure camp, exploring either the Glenorchy/Routeburn Track or Te Anau/Milford Sound/Kepler Track areas.

During Terms 1 and 4, the students go surfing each Friday morning at Warrington Beach as part of their physical education programme. There are many leadership opportunities where each child gets the chance to develop their own leadership style.

Students who remain at our school for Year7/8 benefit from a seamless education, and do not experience a plateau in achievement as they adjust to a change in learning environment at the end of Year 6. Our senior students provide a positive role model for younger children within the school.

The students attend Dunedin North Intermediate every Wednesday morning as part of their Technology curriculum component learning with other Year 7/8 children from small schools in our area.
