The school environment has purpose built areas that cater for a variety of sports. We have a covered heated oxygenated swimming pool (no chlorine). All our children have the opportunity to swim daily in Terms 1 and 4 for water confidence and swimming competence. The junior school have comprehensive swimming lessons in term 4 with an outside provider. Also the senior school has a block session at Moana Pool focusing on water survival. We are very lucky to have a local beach within walking distance and the year 7/8 children experience weekly summer surfing sessions.
Warrington School has a strong and proud hockey vibe. The school’s all-year-round turf allows students to hone their hockey skills. Our keen hockey children participate at the inter-school Dunedin hockey competition held in the winter terms.
Our classroom programmes are full of physical brain breaks and team building games. Highlights of our programme include being involved in the Three Peaks East Otago sports cluster- which includes Cross-country, Swimming and Athletics. The annual school road race is another highlight.
The school has a strong affiliation with North East Valley Cricket Club and Maori Hill Country Football Club.
